Japan stormed past India with a huge win in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup group stage. The Japanese side crushed India 11-0 in their second match and moved close to the quarter-finals. Hinata Miyazawa and Riko Ueki both scored hat-tricks in a one-sided game.
Japan now lead the group table with six points from two matches. Chinese Taipei sit in second place with three points. Vietnam also have three points but remain third on goal difference. India are at the bottom after losing both of their matches.
The match in Perth saw full control from Japan. India struggled to keep the ball and failed to stop the constant attacks. Japan started fast and took the lead in the fourth minute when Yuzuki Yamamoto scored the opener. Yui Hasegawa doubled the lead in the 13th minute.
Japan added three more goals before the break. Hinata Miyazawa scored twice in the first half. Kiko Seike also found the net. Japan went into the break with a strong 5-0 lead.
The second half followed the same pattern. Japan kept attacking and scored six more goals. Riko Ueki struck two quick goals early in the half. Seike then added another goal to make it 8-0. Hijikata scored again in the 62nd minute.
Ueki completed her hat-trick in the 65th minute. Miyazawa later scored again in the 82nd minute to complete her own hat-trick. Japan closed the match with a big 11-0 victory over India.
