Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said even parties defeated in the election would be included in the process of nation-building if Jamaat came to power after the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
He made the remarks while addressing an electoral rally in Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla on Saturday.
The Jamaat chief said his party envisioned a country where the life, property and dignity of every citizen would be protected.
Describing the upcoming polls as a continuation of the July uprising, he said the movement that took to the streets in 2024 would now be expressed through the ballot.
Shafiqur Rahman said the people of Bangladesh would decide who formed the next government.
He warned that if any external force attempted to influence the election, people would resist such interference.
He also said that if Jamaat was voted into power, no one would be allowed to disrupt the peaceful lives of minority communities.
Addressing the same rally, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said he did not view Chauddagram through a partisan lens.
“I am everyone’s Taher Bhai,” he said.
Taher noted that while everyone has the right to follow the political party of their choice, they should remain united as human beings. He highlighted the presence of individuals from various political backgrounds, including the BNP, on the rally stage, describing them all as his brothers.
He further asserted that a Member of Parliament should not represent a single party but should be elected based on their ability to ensure the welfare of all people. Taher expressed his commitment to working for the benefit of the local community by rising above partisan interests
