Jamaat-e-Islami has announced Shadik Kayem, the vice president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu), as its candidate for the mayoral election of Dhaka South City Corporation.
The announcement came Friday during a workers’ conference organised by Dhaka Metropolitan South Jamaat-e-Islami at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in Kakrail, the capital.
Shadik Kayem was present at the conference alongside Jamat officials holding various thana and divisional-level responsibilities.
