Three leaders of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) — Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were released by a court in Delhi on Sunday morning.
Police detained the three from a flight after it landed in Delhi on Saturday morning. Authorities later placed them under preventive arrest, reports NDTV.
An executive magistrate’s court in Delhi Cantonment ordered their release on Sunday morning, the second day of the planned protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The protest centres on alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), an exercise to clean up electoral rolls.
YouTube activist Dhruv Rathee was also released in the early hours of Sunday.
Police detained Rathee from his residence in Gurugram on Saturday ahead of the planned protest at Jantar Mantar.
