The opposition staged a walkout from Parliament for the fourth time, protesting the passage of the “July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum Bill, 2026” despite their standing objections.

The walkout occurred during the evening session presided over by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed on Friday. Opposition Leader and Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman announced the walkout and led the opposition members out of the house immediately after the bill was passed.

Prior to the exit, Shafiqur questioned why amendments were not being brought to every bill and demanded that the government accept amendments to allow for proper discussion on the legislation.

The opposition members opted to leave the session after alleging that they were being denied the opportunity to engage in debate regarding the proposed amendments.
