International Standard University (ISU) has launched a Bachelor of Science Engineering (BSc Engg) programme in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science after receiving approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, as the university moves to expand technology-focused education and prepare graduates for the evolving global digital economy.
The newly approved programme, offered under ISU’s Faculty of Advanced Science and Computing, is designed to develop skilled engineers with expertise in artificial intelligence and data science, supporting career opportunities in domestic and international technology industries.
ISU said in a press release that the programme reflects its continued focus on providing quality, affordable and career-oriented higher education since its establishment.
The 152-credit undergraduate programme includes courses in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Cybersecurity and other emerging technologies. Students will also have access to research opportunities, modern laboratory facilities and industry-focused projects aimed at developing practical skills alongside academic knowledge.
The university said the programme has been designed to help graduates meet increasing demand for technology professionals while creating opportunities for higher studies and research in advanced computing fields.
To encourage academic excellence and improve access to higher education, ISU has introduced merit-based tuition waivers for eligible students.
ISU currently operates academic programmes through five faculties and eight departments. The Faculty of Business Studies offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes.
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology offers programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Textile Engineering, and Apparel Merchandising and Management (AMM). The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers BA (Hons) in English, MA in English Literature and Cultural Studies, and LLB (Hons) programmes.
