Islami Andolan Bangladesh has officially declared its election manifesto for the 13th parliament election, titled “Janapratyashar Bangladesh” Bangladesh of People’s Expectations).
The manifesto, which incorporates 30 key points and 12 special programmes, was presented on Wednesday by the party’s Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, also known as the Charmonai Peer, at the central office in Purana Paltan.
During the announcement, he remarked that the title reflects a commitment to manifesting the public aspirations that grew out of the War of Independence and the July mass uprising.
Focus on social safety nets, youth empowerment
Within the 12 special programmes, the party has proposed a monthly cash allowance of 5,000 BDT for the ultra-poor and vulnerable groups, alongside the provision of a nutritious daily meal for all primary-level students.
To support the youth, the IAB plans to offer one-time interest-free and collateral-free loans to individuals aged between 18 and 24.
Additionally, the manifesto outlines the introduction of a universal health protection scheme via health cards and the provision of subsidised agricultural materials through the implementation of agri-cards.
The party also intends to establish a National Job Portal for employment and training, set up daycare centres for working mothers, and introduce franchise-based bus management and a service-centric tax system in Dhaka and other urban centres.
Economic stability, administrative reforms
The party’s vision for the state includes the full implementation of Qawmi certificate recognition and the appointment of Ulama to various state positions.
To address economic concerns, the IAB aims to dismantle illegal syndicates to control commodity prices and ensure uninterrupted civic services for all.
Their 28-point development plan focuses on achieving economic prosperity, managing foreign debt, and controlling inflation to preserve purchasing power.
Furthermore, the party seeks to transform Bangladesh into an investment haven, establish the rule of law, and introduce a science-based education system rooted in morality.
Regarding the labour market and infrastructure, the manifesto pledges to provide housing for female garment workers and create decent employment opportunities for the youth based on domestic and international demand.
The IAB also proposes an integrated agricultural system focusing on production, storage, and marketing. Key administrative pledges include the strengthening of local government institutions and the decentralisation of power.
The party also emphasised its commitment to modern and hygienic sanitation, water resource management, and climate change disaster relief, while prioritising the values of the July mass uprising and the Liberation War in national governance.
