Iran warns it is ready to resume military conflict with the United States if talks break down, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.
In coordinated messages to domestic and international audiences, Araghchi underscored the economic fallout of the US‑Israel war with Iran, noting that American households are already feeling the strain, reports Al Jazeera.
He pointed to surging US energy prices and inflation since the conflict erupted on 28 February, attributing the spike to the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz — a chokepoint for nearly one‑fifth of global oil and gas flows.
“Americans are told they must absorb rocketing costs of a war of choice on Iran,” Araghchi wrote on X, posting an image of rising US Treasury yields.
He added that beyond gas prices and market volatility, the deeper squeeze will come as debt and mortgage rates climb, with auto loan delinquencies already at a 30‑year high.
