Inqilab Moncho held a demonstration in the capital on Friday, demanding the arrest and trial of the recently resigned president Mohammed Shahabuddin.
Following the publication of news regarding the president’s resignation on Friday afternoon, several hundred activists from the organisation gathered at the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University.
They subsequently brought out a protest march that proceeded towards the Shahbagh intersection before returning to the Raju Memorial Sculpture.
During the demonstration, participants chanted various slogans, including “Break and smash Chuppu’s hideout,” “Catch Chuppu, put him in jail,” “Delhi or Dhaka,” and “We want justice for the July killings.”
The protesters further demanded that legal action be taken against former president Shahabuddin.
