Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has drawn sharp criticism with his provocative comments targeting India, saying, “Pakistan is a state built in the name of Allah, our defenders are soldiers of Allah. This time, India, Inshallah, will be buried under the wreckage of its planes. Allahu Akbar.”
He shared these remarks on X, positioning them as a response to India’s alleged attempts to regain credibility after statements made by Indian military and political figures.
Asif accused the Indian government of inflaming border tensions to divert attention from internal political issues. “The statements by Indian military and political leaders are a failed attempt to restore their lost credibility,” Asif posted on X.
He continued, “After such a decisive defeat with a score of 0–6, if they try again, the score god willing will be much better than before. … This time India will be buried under the wreckage of its own planes.”
These comments followed remarks by India’s army chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, who spoke to soldiers near the Pakistan border on Friday. Dwivedi had warned that India would no longer tolerate Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism if it wished to “remain on the world map.”
General Dwivedi also stressed that India would not exercise the same restraint it did during Operation Sindoor, when the Indian army claimed to have targeted nine facilities inside Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of over 100 Pakistani soldiers and militants.
Earlier on Friday, at an army post in Rajasthan, India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “In Operation Sindoor 1.0, we exercised restraint, but this time we will not. We will do something that will make Pakistan question whether it wants to remain on the map.”
Earlier, on Thursday, while addressing soldiers at a border post in Bhuj, Gujarat, Rajnath Singh remarked, “If Pakistan attempts aggression in the Sir Creek area, we will give a response that could change both history and geography.”In case a fresh round of hostilities is triggered, Pakistan shall not hold back. We shall resolutely respond, without any qualms or restraint.”
