The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) observed Chartered Secretary Day 2026 with a day-long programme in Dhaka, marking 16 years since the Chartered Secretaries Act 2010 formally recognised the profession and established its institutional framework in the country, said in a press release.
Members, students, corporate professionals and other stakeholders participated in the observance, highlighting the profession’s role in strengthening corporate governance, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting ethical business practices and supporting sustainable institutional development.
The day began with a colourful procession from the National Museum to the ICSB premises in Banglamotor. The programme will continue with evening events at the Muktijuddho Hall of the IDEB Building, including a cake-cutting ceremony, discussion session and cultural performances.
Participants from leading corporate organisations, chartered secretaries, students and executives joined the celebration, reflecting the growing significance of the profession within Bangladesh’s corporate and wider economic landscape.
