A day-long workshop on legal and compliance perspectives under documentary credits was organised by ICC Bangladesh in Chattogram on 10 January.
In trade finance, a documentary credit refers to a bank-backed payment mechanism based on compliant documents rather than the goods themselves.
The programme focused on enhancing understanding of regulatory and compliance issues related to documentary credit operations, the chamber said in a press release.
ICC Bangladesh Secretary General Ataur Rahman inaugurated the workshop and later distributed certificates among the participants.
Mutual Trust Bank Executive Vice President A T M Nesarul Hoque conducted the workshop sessions, sharing practical insights and professional experiences.
The workshop was attended by 44 participants from 16 banks and seven corporate clients of Eastern Bank.
