Like many, legendary commentator Ian Bishop cannot wait to see Nahid Rana bowl in SENA countries.
The former West Indies fast bowler believes the Bangladesh pacer could become even more dangerous when he gets the chance to play in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and England.
Nahid has already built a reputation for his pace. He has troubled top batters across the world with his speed. The right arm quick continued that form in the first ODI against Australia. He claimed four wickets and put the visitors under pressure with a fiery spell.
So far, Nahid has played international cricket outside Bangladesh in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. But he is yet to appear in any of the SENA nations. That is why Bishop is eager to see how he performs in those conditions.
The commentator shared his thoughts on his official X account.
“Nahid Rana has not yet played international cricket in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand or England. If he continues on this trajectory, that is going to be mouth-watering.”
Bangladesh will tour Australia for a Test series in two months. The Tigers will also travel to South Africa later this year for a full series.
There is another major event on the horizon. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will host the 2027 ODI World Cup.
If he remains fit, Nahid is expected to feature in all those tours and tournaments.
That means Bishop’s wait may soon come to an end. Bangladesh fans will also be eager to see whether their pace star can make the same impact in SENA conditions.
