Huawei has received the Technology Award at the 6th bKash Partner Excellence Award ceremony, in recognition of its exceptional contributions to Bangladesh’s rapidly evolving digital financial services.
The honour highlights Huawei’s role as a key technology and supply chain partner for bKash, which now serves over 84 million users nationwide, reads a press release.
The annual event, organised by bKash’s Supply Chain Management Department, celebrated 17 organisations across eight award categories. These partners were recognised for their efforts in making mobile financial services (MFS) more accessible and seamless for millions of Bangladeshis.
Huawei was specifically honoured as the foundational technology enabler within the broader bKash ecosystem.
Senior bKash leadership, including Chief Financial Officer Moinuddin Mohammed Rahgir, and Executive Vice President of Supply Chain Management Mohammad Rashedul Alam attended the ceremony to personally commend the recipients.
Praising Huawei’s dedication to high standards of compliance and integrity, Mohammad Rashedul Alam said, “Partners like Huawei have been instrumental in maintaining strict compliance, high integrity, and proactive collaboration- qualities that directly translate into a better experience for our millions of users.”
Huawei Bangladesh Account Director Du Congcong said the recognition affirms the company’s long-standing commitment to the country’s digital future. “Together with bKash, we will continue building the infrastructure that empowers millions of people with access to modern financial services,” he said.
For nearly a decade, Huawei and bKash have collaborated to build and scale the nation’s digital financial ecosystem. As a core technology partner, Huawei provides the hardware and software solutions that form the backbone of bKash’s daily operations.
This infrastructure powers the core fintech wallet solution (eWallet), supporting essential daily transactions- such as cash-in, cash-out, peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers, and utility bill payments- for over 82 million registered users.
The award reinforces Huawei’s commitment to fostering inclusive digital economies across South and Southeast Asia. Currently, Huawei’s digital financial platforms serve approximately 410 million users across more than 60 markets in Asia and Africa, contributing significantly to the global expansion of the digital economy.
