The toss for the fifth and final T20I between England and India has been delayed by 30 minutes after the Indian team was caught in heavy traffic on their way to the Utilita Bowl in Southampton.
While the England squad arrived at the venue on schedule, India’s team bus was held up in traffic. The visitors eventually reached the ground at 2:10 pm local time.
As a result, the toss, originally scheduled for 2:15 pm local time, has been pushed back to 2:45 pm (7:45 pm Bangladesh time). The match will now begin at 3:00 pm local time (8:00 pm Bangladesh time).
Despite the unexpected delay, no overs have been lost.
England have already secured the five-match series with an unassailable 3-0 lead, while India are still searching for their first victory of the tour.
This is not the first time traffic congestion has disrupted an international match in England. Last year, England’s ODI against the West Indies at The Oval also started 30 minutes late due to traffic delays.
