The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has cautioned that temporary waterlogging could occur across several areas of Dhaka metropolitan region as heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours.
According to a rainfall bulletin issued at 11am on Monday, an active monsoon is expected to bring heavy (44–88mm) to very heavy (exceeding 88mm) precipitation to the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

The weather office specifically noted that these intense downpours may result in temporary waterlogging within Dhaka city.
In the 24 hours leading up to 6am Monday, Ambagan in Chattogram recorded the country’s highest rainfall at 174mm. During the same period, Dhaka saw a total of 97mm.

The BMD further projected that daytime temperatures might see a slight decrease, while night temperatures are likely to remain largely unchanged across the country.
