Connor Storrie, who rose to fame with the hockey romance series ‘Heated Rivalry’, could be heading into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a villain opposite Ryan Gosling in the upcoming ‘Ghost Rider’ film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Storrie is in talks to join the project, although Marvel has yet to reveal which character he might play. The potential casting marks another major step in the young actor’s growing Hollywood career.
Shawn Levy, who directed ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, will helm the film, reuniting with Gosling after their work on the upcoming ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’. Jonathan Tropper, who wrote that film, is penning the screenplay.
Gosling is expected to portray Johnny Blaze, the motorcycle stuntman who becomes Ghost Rider, although Marvel has not officially confirmed his character. The franchise centres on the supernatural antihero, whose powers are linked to a demonic force.
Storrie’s possible role remains under wraps. Speculation has centred on several potential antagonists, but no character has been confirmed.
The actor became widely recognised for playing Russian hockey player Ilya Rozanov in ‘Heated Rivalry’, which is preparing for its second season. He also appeared in ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, playing the inmate who kills Arthur Fleck near the end of the film.
Production on ‘Ghost Rider’ is expected to begin in New York in 2027. Cinematographer Linus Sandgren, known for ‘La La Land’ and ‘Dune: Part Three’, is attached to the project, which is scheduled to reach cinemas on 28 July 2028.
