Actress Sadika Parvin Popy is mourning the death of her mother, Mariam Begum, following years of reported tension in their relationship. The actress shared a message on social media expressing her grief and asking people to pray for her mother’s departed soul.

Mariam Begum died at a hospital in Moghbazar, Dhaka, at around 1.30am on 28 October. She had been suffering from kidney disease and several age-related health complications.

Her health deteriorated after she suffered a stroke at her home in Niketan, Gulshan, on the night of 14 October. She was admitted to hospital shortly before 2am and remained under treatment. Doctors were preparing to transfer her to the intensive care unit when she died on Tuesday night.

The actress also alleged that she later discovered her savings had been transferred to another person’s bank account. According to her account, when she sought explanations from her parents, she received no answers and felt she had become an adversary within her own family.
