The air ambulance carrying Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi has departed for Singapore for advanced treatment. It took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1:55pm on Monday.
The air ambulance of the Gulfstream G‑100 series landed at Dhaka airport at 11:22am, said SM Ragib Samad, executive director of the airport.
Hadi was taken to the airport by an ambulance from Evercare Hospital in the capital.
On Sunday, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing said, all logistical preparations, including the medical air ambulance, medical team and travel‑related arrangements, have already been completed.
A treatment plan has also been secured with the Accident and Emergency Department of Singapore General Hospital, the Press Wing said.
Dr Md Sayedur Rahman has informed Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus that Hadi’s condition has shown no significant change.
The move was finalised following directives from the chief adviser during an urgent conference call that included Cultural Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Dr Md Sayedur Rahman, the Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant for Health Ministry Affairs, Evercare Hospital specialist Dr Zafar, and Hadi’s brother Omar Bin Hadi.
The CA Press Wing said the government has spent the past two days consulting multiple hospitals in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia to determine the best medical option for Hadi.
It added that the government will cover all medical expenses, and the chief adviser has instructed officials to maintain continuous monitoring of Hadi’s health. He has also urged the public to pray for Hadi’s swift recovery.
Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Md Sayedur Rahman were present at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport when Osman Hadi was taken to Singapore for advanced treatment.
Hadi sustained gunshot injuries in an attack in Dhaka’s Bijoynagar area on Friday noon, sparking widespread alarm and condemnation.
