The Guyana Amazon Warriors have booked their place in the CPL 2025 Final after a tense 14-run win against the St Lucia Kings in Qualifier 1. This result sends them to their third consecutive final, continuing a golden run in the tournament.

Batting first, the Warriors posted 157 runs with Ben McDermott scoring 34. St Lucia’s Samsi bowled well and finished with 3 for 33.

The Kings looked down and out at 48 for 7, but a brave fightback led by Pierre, who struck 50, kept the contest alive. They were eventually bowled out for 143, falling just short of what would have been a miraculous chase.

The Warriors’ bowlers shone in the key moments. Gudakesh Motie starred with 4 for 30, while captain Imran Tahir took 2 for 22. Dwaine Pretorius also chipped in with 2 for 24. Their combined effort sealed the victory despite the Kings’ late surge.

It was a match full of drama as all 20 wickets fell and the game went down to the final over. Tahir celebrated with his usual flair, but the rest of the Warriors kept their calm, knowing they could have bowled St Lucia out for under 100.

This victory sets up another shot at glory. The Warriors won the title in 2023, finished runners-up in 2024, and are now eyeing the crown once again in 2025, having also tasted success earlier this year in the GSL T20.

With stars like Imran Tahir, Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Gudakesh Motie, Moeen Ali, and Dwaine Pretorius, the Warriors will head into the final full of confidence and belief.
