Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Water Resources, said on Monday that the interim government is ready to tackle any untoward situation following the verdict on the crime against humanity against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

Speaking at an event in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, the environment adviser said attempts are underway to create an unstable environment in the country surrounding Sheikh Hasina’s verdict and the upcoming national election.

“I am not worried about the attack on my residence. What concerns us more is that fires are being set in different places, and lives have been lost,” she said.

She further added that the government is ready to deal with any adverse situation and that the perpetrators will not be able to achieve their intended goals.
