Gono Odhikar Parishad has clarified that it will not enter into any electoral alliance or seat-sharing arrangement with BNP for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.

The announcement comes in response to misleading and false reports circulating on social media, as well as in print and electronic media, claiming the party had reached a deal with BNP.

In a press release published on Thursday, Shakil Uzzaman, Secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad, appealed to the media, political parties, public figures, and citizens to refrain from spreading misleading information.

Shakil Uzzaman, stated “A central meeting was held on 22 December 2025, attended by senior party members, district representatives, leaders of affiliated organisations, and nominated candidates.”

“By unanimous decision, the party resolved to contest the election independently. No further central meetings have been held since, and no new decision has been taken,” he noted.

The party stressed that any discussions or arrangements made by individuals with other political entities at a personal level do not reflect the party’s perspective.

Reports suggesting seat-sharing with BNP in two constituencies are entirely false and intended to tarnish Gono Odhikar Parishad’s image.

“Ganadhikar Parishad will continue its electoral campaign independently, and we urge everyone to respect our official decision,” Shakil Uzzaman added.
