A meeting has been held between the US Chargé d’Affaires Tracey Ann Jacobson and Gono Odhikar Parishad.
The hour-long meeting took place at the American Embassy in Dhaka on Monday at noon, according to a press release issued by Gono Odhikar Parishad.
During the meeting, Chargé d’Affaires Tracey Ann Jacobson and the General Secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad Md Rashed Khan discussed the current political situation of the country. During the meeting, Political Officer James Stuart from the American Embassy and Senior Council Member of the Council for People’s Rights, Advocate Md Khalid Hossain, were also present.
Subsequently, a nearly hour-long meeting was also held with UN Resident Coordinator Gwyn Lewis at the UN Resident Office.
At that time, the Senior Human Rights Advisor to the Resident Representative, Huma Khan, was also present. Issues including the attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur were also discussed in that meeting.
