Gold prices have dropped again, with 22-carat gold falling by Tk5,482 per bhori (11.664 grams) to settle at Tk2,41,445.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new price through a press release on Wednesday.
The price of 21-carat gold now stands at Tk2,30,481 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk1,97,530, and traditional method gold at Tk1,60,905.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in line with overall market conditions following a change in the local price of tejabi gold, or pure gold.
The notice further said 5 percent VAT and minimum wage of 6 percent must be added to the selling price of gold. However, the wage may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged. 22-carat silver is now selling at Tk5,365 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk5,132, 18-carat at Tk4,432, and traditional silver at Tk3,324.
