Gold prices have fallen sharply in the domestic market after the Bangladesh Jewellers Association revised rates following an emergency meeting on Friday morning.

The decision was taken at 9:30am, with the new prices coming into effect from 10am the same day.

According to the announcement, the price of the highest quality 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk21,815 per gram.

Based on the standard calculation of 11.664 grams per bhori, the price now stands at Tk254,450 per bhori.

Previously, the same category of gold was selling at Tk262,090 per bhori, marking a decline of Tk7,640 per bhori.
