A meeting of the implementation committee for the previously announced public rally to be held at the historic Paltan intersection at 2pm on 11 November by 8 political parties protesting to bring to fruition a 5-point public demand – was held on 9 November at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, presided over by Secretary General and former MP Mia Golam Parwar.
Present at the meeting were Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Ma’sum, Dr Hamidur Rahman Azad (former MP), Maulana Abdul Halim, and Adv Ehsanul Mahbub Zubayer; Vice Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan North, Mr. Abdur Rahman Musa; Vice Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan South, Mr. Abdus Sabur Fakir and Adv. Dr. Helal Uddin; Assistant Secretaries of Dhaka Metropolitan North, Mr. Nazim Uddin Molla and Mr. Md. Yasin Arafat; Secretary General of Islami Chhatra Shibir, Nurul Islam Saddam, among others, according to a press statement.
The meeting discussed in detail various aspects of implementing the public rally and duties were distributed with the aim of making the rally a complete success.
Finally, the meeting’s chairman, Mia Golam Parwar, made an earnest appeal to the residents of Dhaka for making the public rally an all-out success and for their overall cooperation.
