The upcoming Global Sourcing Expo 2025 is set to take place from 1 to 3 December at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal, with participation from several foreign companies.
According to sources at the Ministry of Commerce, this marks a new phase for Bangladesh’s traditional trade fair model.
The Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF), as it was previously known, will now be organized in two separate segments. The main event, titled Dhaka Trade Fair (DTF), is scheduled to be held in January and will continue for a month.
In addition to the DTF, there will be a separate international segment – the Global Sourcing Expo – featuring global companies.
From now on, the same venue will host two fairs – the month-long Dhaka Trade Fair for local participants in January, and the three-day Global Sourcing Expo for foreign exhibitors in December.
Both events will be jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).
Officials said the goal of DITF has always been to promote high-quality products and advanced technology through direct participation of foreign companies, and the new format aims to strengthen that objective.
