Law Adviser Asif Nazrul has said that the gazette of the 13th parliamentary election results will be published by 14 February, and a new government will be formed before the holy month of Ramadan.
He added that once the gazette is published, arrangements will be made for members of parliament to take the oath as soon as possible.
After casting his vote at Siddheshwari Girls’ College centre in Dhaka around 2:30pm, Asif Nazrul told reporters that power will be handed over to the elected government between 17 and 18 February.
The oath ceremony for MPs will be arranged as soon as possible, followed by the swearing-in of the new government.
Commenting on the overall election situation, he said, “So far, the situation has been good.”
