A foreign-made pistol has been recovered in an abandoned state from Jolapotti area under Chawkbazar Model Police Station in Old Dhaka.
A team from the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-10 recovered the firearm on Sunday. The matter was confirmed on Monday by the Operations Officer of RAB-10 Tapan.
He said the pistol, found in an abandoned condition, has been deposited at Chawkbazar police station.
Sources revealed that the recovery took place around 4pm on Sunday from underneath a machine in a polythene factory. The factory is located on the ground floor of a three-storey building owned by Kajol Mia in Jolapotti, Chawkbazar.
Following the recovery, RAB-10 Keraniganj headquarter company filed a General Diary (GD) with Chawkbazar police station. No individuals have been detained in connection with the incident so far.
