Police arrested five individuals, including a fugitive sentenced to six months in a human trafficking case, during separate operations in Dasar, Madaripur.
Dasar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Soleiman Mahmud confirmed the matter on Wednesday.
According to police, Firoz Hawlader, 45, had been a fugitive for a long time after being sentenced to six months imprisonment in a human trafficking case.
During the same operation, another warrant-listed suspect in a human trafficking case, Bilkis Begum, 38, was also arrested.
Moreover, around 8:30pm, police conducted a raid in front of the Nabogram Old Union Parishad, where they detained three individuals with 11 Yaba tablets.
The detainees have been identified as Asim Baidya, 19, Sagar Baidya, 20, and Nayan Mandal, 19.
OC Soleiman said a case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
