The government has appointed new deputy commissioners (DCs) and district magistrates to five districts – Gazipur, Chapainawabganj, Panchagarh, Kushtia, and Netrokona.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday, five officers of the BCS (Administration) cadre have been transferred and posted to these roles.
Md Nurul Karim Bhuiyan, previously serving as a deputy secretary in the Local Government Division, has been appointed as the DC and district magistrate of Gazipur.
Abu Saleh Mohammad Musa Zangi, who was a director (deputy secretary) at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh and under a transfer order to the Secondary and Higher Education Division, has been posted to Chapainawabganj.
Mst Shukria Parvin, formerly a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, will take charge of Panchagarh. Md Touhid Bin Hasan, a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, has been appointed to Kushtia.
Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman, previously a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, has been made the DC and district magistrate of Netrokona.
The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Aminul Islam by order of the president, stated that the order would take effect immediately in the public interest.
