The Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) turned lively on Friday as voting for the Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association election 2026–28 picked up pace. Senior and junior members of the film industry continued to arrive throughout the day to cast their votes.
Voting began in the morning. The atmosphere grew more vibrant as well-known film personalities visited the polling centre one after another. Veteran actress Anwara Begum, director and actor Kazi Hayat, actor Abul Hayat and film star Rubel reached BFDC earlier in the day and cast their votes. Their presence created a festive mood at the venue.
Younger artistes also joined the voting process as the day progressed. Actress Prarthana Fardin Dighi and several emerging performers exercised their voting rights. Many artistes greeted colleagues and exchanged informal conversations while visiting the polling centre.
The steady flow of film personalities kept the BFDC premises busy and energetic. Fans also gathered outside the venue to see their favourite stars, adding to the election atmosphere.
Voting began at 9:30am on Friday and will continue until 6:00pm. Two panels contest the election for key posts, including president and general secretary.
The Election Commission oversees the process along with law enforcement agencies to ensure smooth and peaceful voting throughout the day.
