The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka North has arrested two alleged drug dealers, a father and his son with 150 pieces of yaba tablets in the Ashulia area of Savar.
DB Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Jalal Uddin confirmed the arrests on Sunday morning.
The duo was detained during a late-night raid in the Gazirchat area of Ashulia on Saturday.
The arrestees were identified as Md Kalam Hawlader, 44, and his son Md Sohag Hawlader, 21, both residents of Madhya Gazirchat under Ashulia Police Station in Dhaka.
Locals alleged that the two had been involved in the illegal drug trade in the area for a long time. They said several complaints had previously been filed with the authorities seeking action against them.
