BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday emphasised, the party wants to move away from old political practices and embrace new leadership with modern ideas.
Speaking at a roadside rally at Golim Babur Hat area in Jagannathpur Union of Thakurgaon-1, Fakhrul said “The party is determined to move away from old political practices by supporting fresh leadership.”
Referring to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, he described him as a young and energetic leader with modern ideas, signalling a shift from conventional approaches to governance and party politics.
He said the country needed a young prime minister who could lead it with new thinking and called on the public to unite in support of that change.
Fakhrul also urged voters to support state reform by casting a ‘Yes’ vote in the upcoming referendum.
“The key question before the nation is whether people want reform or not” he said.
He described the referendum as a chance for citizens to take a clear stance on restructuring the state.
“Those who want reform will vote ‘Yes’, and those who do not will vote ‘No’. We all want reform, so I call on everyone to vote ‘Yes’,” he added.
He added that those who had run the country in the past had fled and that meaningful reform is now essential to put the country back on the right track.
Addressing members of the Hindu community, Fakhrul assured them that he would always stand by them and that no one would be allowed to harm them.
He told the crowd that the next three days would be decisive for the country’s future, asking whether people wanted the nation to continue in the old way or move forward on a new path.
