The High Court on Wednesday granted bail to former from Habiganj-4 constituency Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman in two cases, including a murder case and an attempted murder case.
A bench comprising Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Justice Md Zakir Hossain passed the order after making absolute the rules issued earlier in the cases.
Suman’s lawyer M Liton Ahmed told reporters that the High Court granted bail to his client in a murder case filed with Khilgaon Police Station and an attempted murder case filed with Mugda Police Station.
The former MP was arrested from Mirpur-6 in the capital at around 1:30am on 21 October 2024. Several cases have since been filed against him with different police stations in Dhaka and Habiganj.
Suman, a former central law affairs secretary of the Jubo League, was elected an independent lawmaker from Habiganj-4 constituency in the 12th National Parliamentary Election.
