All events and exhibitions at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy will resume from Sunday (21 December), the academy said in a press release issued on Saturday.

Following the death of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, the Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus addressed the nation on 18 December, and declared state mourning on Saturday (20 December).

After the announcement, the academy said in a post on its official Facebook page that all its events and exhibitions had been suspended from Friday (19 December) until further notice.

In the press release, the academy said all activities will now continue as normal from Sunday.

The release further said that after the post announcing the suspension of activities, bdnews24.com and some other online news portals, as well as various Facebook pages, published reports stating that “all activities of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy have been declared closed for an indefinite period,” which has come to their attention and is regrettable and unwelcome.
