Emirates will introduce a daily, year-round service between Helsinki and Dubai from 1 October 2026, creating the only direct air link between Finland and the United Arab Emirates.
The new route will be operated by Emirates’ A350 aircraft, bringing the airline’s latest onboard products to Finland from the outset, including its Premium Economy cabin. The flight schedule is designed to offer convenient onward connections across Emirates’ global network, covering destinations in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, all five Australian cities and New Zealand.
Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim said the decision reflects strong existing demand between the two markets and is expected to drive further growth by providing nonstop, premium connectivity. He said Finland’s growing importance for tourism, trade and business made Helsinki a natural addition to the airline’s network.
Tourism is a key contributor to Finland’s economy, with around five million international visitors recorded in recent years. Finland has been named by Lonely Planet as a must-visit destination for 2026, offering year-round attractions ranging from Northern Lights experiences and the Midnight Sun to extensive national parks and distinctive wildlife. Helsinki, frequently ranked among the world’s happiest cities, combines a modern urban environment with close access to nature and culture.
Beyond passenger traffic, the route is expected to strengthen trade links between the UAE and Finland. Emirates SkyCargo plans to transport goods such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, machinery, perishables and other high-value products, with each flight offering up to 16 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity.
The A350 aircraft operating the route will feature three cabins—Business, Premium Economy and Economy—with a total capacity of 298 passengers. The aircraft also offers quieter cabins and advanced onboard technology aimed at improving passenger comfort.
