Saiful Islam Tuhin, Mozaffar Hossain Fahad, Kamrul Hasan and Siam have been accused in the case. The four allegedly planned the crime. Among them, all except Siam directly participated in the killing.

Apratim’s father KM Firoz Shahriar, said, “Around 12:30am, the investigation officer called me and informed me that he had submitted the charge sheet to the court.”

He also said, “My dreams of living revolved around my son. The killers have taken those dreams away from me. I want the killers to be brought to justice swiftly. I hope the court will deliver the maximum punishment to the killers as soon as possible. I do not want the accused to escape punishment because of their age.”

On the afternoon of 18 September, Tuhin took Apratim to an isolated area in Sananda, near the Lalmai Hills. When Tuhin attempted to snatch Apratim’s iPhone, he resisted. Tuhin then struck him, followed by Fahad and Kamrul, who also hit him on the head with bamboo sticks. The investigation found that Apratim died from the assault.

According to the investigation, after the body was recovered, police reviewed CCTV footage from nearby areas and identified Tuhin as the person who had last been seen with Apratim.

Tuhin was subsequently taken into custody and questioned. Based on information provided by him, Fahad and Kamrul were also arrested. Police recovered Apratim’s iPhone during a raid on Tuhin’s residence.

After confirming Apratim’s death, Tuhin, Fahad and Kamrul fled the scene with the mobile phone, police said.

Another person, identified as Siam, was also arrested in connection with the case. The investigation report states that information and evidence related to his involvement were examined and verified.
