Emirates has opened a state-of-the-art flight crew training centre in Dubai with a significant $135 million investment.
The new facility will train current and future pilots on the airline’s Airbus A350 fleet and upcoming Boeing 777Xs, increasing the airline’s yearly pilot training capacity by 54 percent and 45,000 hours.
The centre covering 63,318 square feet features six full-flight simulator bays and is integrated with a bespoke Pilot Support Station to optimise training.
This in-house innovation enables pilots to configure flight decks and build flight plans in a fully immersive environment before training sessions.
Sessions are recorded for performance reviews.
In addition to the new centre, Emirates provides various training and development programmes at its other facilities in Dubai, including the Emirates Flight Training Academy, Emirates Aviation University, and the Emirates Cabin Crew Training Centre.
