BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit three northern districts – Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, and Nilphamari – on 7 February as part of his election campaign.
Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, a member of the BNP Standing Committee and the party’s nominated candidate for the Dinajpur-6 constituency, shared this information following a meeting at the Dinajpur district BNP office on Wednesday afternoon.
He stated that the BNP chairman will participate in the election campaign in three districts of the Rangpur division via helicopter rather than by road.
While 7 February has been designated for the tour, the exact timing is yet to be confirmed, as it depends on security, weather conditions, and the tour coordinators.
During the visit, Tarique Rahman will address public rallies organised for the party’s nominated candidates. These include BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for Thakurgaon-1 (Sadar), Dr AZM Zahid Hossain for Dinajpur-6, and Shahrin Islam Tuhin for the Nilphamari-2 constituency.
In addition to the rallies, it has been reported that Tarique Rahman will visit the graves of his late maternal grandfather Iskandar Majumder, grandmother Tayyaba Majumder, and aunt, former minister Khurshid Jahan Haque, to offer prayers.
Dr Zahid Hossain further noted that meetings with district BNP leaders and activists are ongoing to ensure that the election rallies are successful, smooth, and peaceful.
