Police recovered the body of an elderly man from a train coach at Bonarpara railway station in Saghata upazila of Gaibandha.
The deceased was identified as Mozahar Ali, 60, son of late Abdul Sardar of Matarpara village under Ghuridah union in the upazila.
According to police and locals, the College Train from Santahar in Bogura arrived at Bonarpara railway station at around 9:30pm on Sunday.
While cleaning the train, railway sweepers found the lifeless body lying in the last coach and informed the Bonarpara railway police.
Police later went to the spot and recovered the body.
Confirming the incident on Monday morning, Bonarpara Railway Police Station officer-in-charge Md Kamal Uddin said the death was initially suspected to be natural.
He said the body would be handed over to the family after completing necessary legal procedures in their presence.
