A three-day “Makeup Shakeup Eid-ul-Adha Grand Showcase” began at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View on Wednesday, bringing together fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands ahead of Eid-ul-Adha shopping.
Chattogram-9 lawmaker Mohammad Abu Sufian inaugurated the event in the afternoon, organisers said.
More than 60 local and international brands are taking part in the showcase, which will continue until Friday evening.
The fair aims to create a festive Eid shopping experience by connecting shoppers, beauty enthusiasts and entrepreneurs under one roof.
Organiser Juhi Chowdhury said the event has been designed as a one-stop destination for Eid shopping with exclusive offers, alongside beauty and nutrition consultation services.
Visitors can explore a range of products, including clothing, cosmetics and accessories, in a family-friendly environment, she said.
She added that the showcase also focuses on promoting women entrepreneurs, as most participating businesses are led by women.
The fair will remain open daily from 10:00am to 10:00pm with free entry for visitors.
Pakistani fashion brand Kamdani by Rana CEO Rana Mohammad Jahangir said Bangladeshi consumers continue to show strong demand for Pakistani attire.
“We regularly supply dresses to fairs and shopping malls across Bangladesh. We received a good response on the opening day in Chattogram and expect strong sales over the next few days,” he said.
Visitors also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and product variety at the venue.
Agrabad resident Wahida Fahima said the fair offers a wide range of products, from dresses to jewellery, under one roof.
“It is a comfortable and hassle-free shopping experience for families ahead of Eid,” she said.
Crowds were seen at several stalls, including Heritage Bond, Hammer Strength, Dighal, Chuti Resort Cox’s Bazar, Mito Skin Lab, Arupa Artistry and Mita Rahman Skincare.
Women of different age groups were also seen applying henna at the mehendi corner.
TIMES of Bangladesh, Chattala TV, SRS Express and Master of Chattogram are among the event partners and sponsors.
