Education Adviser CR Abrar has urged teachers to refrain from party politics and personal interests that could undermine their professional dignity, emphasizing that teaching is a lifelong responsibility and a foundation of society.
Speaking at the closing ceremony and certificate distribution of the 206th foundational training course for BCS Education Cadre officers at the National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) on Tuesday, the adviser highlighted the need for teachers to maintain respect through their conduct, both inside and outside the classroom.
“A teacher’s dignity is built on relationships with students, collaboration with colleagues, and professional behavior in all interactions,” he said.
He stressed that respect for the teaching profession must be earned continuously through ethics, accountability, and professionalism. “Teachers play a central role in shaping society and molding the values, mindset, and perspectives of future generations,” he added.

CR Abrar also emphasised the importance of human connection beyond academics. “Small gestures—like checking in with students in corridors or offering support to those under stress—build trust and affection,” he said.
Congratulating the newly trained teachers, he noted that the course created a unique experience of friendship, understanding, and shared memories that would inspire them throughout their careers. He urged teachers to focus on weaker students, ensuring that education lifts all learners, not just the brightest.
Highlighting professional standards, CR Abrar called for punctuality, regular classes, transparent evaluation, and adequate student engagement. He also stressed the importance of effective communication, subject mastery, and responding respectfully to all student queries, no matter how simple or unexpected.
“In today’s social and political environment, respectful and sensitive interactions with students are essential. Respect is not tied to position or seniority—every individual in an educational institution deserves it,” he said.
