The Election Commission (EC) is set to hold another meeting with the chiefs of law enforcement agencies to review overall law and order issues to ensure the smooth conduct of the 13th parliamentary election and the referendum.
The meeting will be held on Sunday, according to a letter signed on Thursday by Election Commission Deputy Secretary Mohammad Monir Hossain.
The letter said a meeting to review the overall law and order situation in connection with the upcoming 13th parliamentary election and the referendum will be held at 10am on Sunday in the conference room of the Election Commission Secretariat.
Earlier, the EC held meetings with law enforcement agencies on 20 October, 27 November and most recently on 14 December.
The meeting agenda includes reviewing the pre-election law and order situation; joint force operations to recover illegal arms and prevent militant activities; compliance with the code of conduct 2025 formulated for candidates and political parties; and issues related to maintaining the electoral environment.
Regarding the meeting, EC Public Relations Wing Director Ruhul Amin Mallik said that after the meeting, the three service chiefs, the police chief and other concerned officials will brief the media on the law and order situation, illegal arms recovery and joint force operations.
