Ahead of the 13th national election slated for February 2026, the Election Commission (EC) has finalised 73 local observer organisations for preliminary registration.
The EC Secretariat published a list of the names of these organisations in a public notice on Saturday.
The notice read: “The applications for inclusion as election observer organisations have been properly scrutinised and selected.
“In accordance with the relevant guidelines, if anyone has any objections regarding any of the organisations, they are requested to inform the EC senior secretary in writing within 15 working days until 20 October 2025 from the date of this notice’s publication.
“If there are any claims/objections/complaints against anyone, six sets of the objection must be submitted along with appropriate supporting evidence, mentioning the objector’s name, address, and phone number.
“A decision on the acceptance or rejection of the objection will be made after a hearing. The EC’s decision on this matter will be considered final.
“A total of 318 organisations applied within the stipulated deadline of August 10. Thirteen more organisations applied after the deadline.”
