Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) has taken extensive security measures to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration of Durga Puja 2025, one of the most significant religious festivals of the Hindu community.
From 24 September to 2 October, more than 200,000 trained Ansar-VDP personnel will be deployed at 31,576 puja mandaps across the country, according to an official statement.
Ansar and VDP Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud provided directives to staff, field officers, battalion members, and Ansar-VDP personnel. He emphasised vigilance, sincerity, and a people-friendly approach in discharging security duties.
As part of the ongoing reforms, nearly 200,000 young recruits have recently been inducted into the force after specialised training.
Puja mandaps have been categorised into three security levels: highly important mandaps will have eight members on duty, important mandaps six, and regular mandaps six personnel.
Alongside, 92 Ansar Striking Force teams will remain deployed in 64 districts, each with six members tasked with regular patrolling and rapid response in emergencies.
