The preliminary registration process for 2027 Hajj has commenced on Monday, according to a notification from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Intending pilgrims under both government and private management are required to complete this initial phase by 24 September.
The ministry has established the primary registration fee at Tk350,000. For those who have already finished the pre-registration stage, the final registration can be completed by paying the full package amount during the period.
All other participants must settle their remaining costs and finalise their registration by 10 December.
A mandatory pre-registration fee of Tk30,000 must be paid before an individual can proceed with the primary registration. Under the government scheme, registration can be conducted via the e-Hajj system, Union Digital Centres, or at divisional and district offices of the Islamic Foundation, Model Mosques, Baitul Mukarram office, and Ashkona Hajj Office.
Alternatively, registration is available through any enlisted Hajj agency.
Package details and procedures
The government has introduced two options – Hajj Package-1 and an economical Hajj Package-2. Private agencies will provide one general package and may offer up to three additional variations, which will be accessible via the Hajj portal.
During the registration process, pilgrims are required to select their preferred package, the specific type of Hajj, and their choice of district for mandatory Hajj training and vaccinations.
Financial transactions for government registration must be made into a designated Sonali Bank account. Those opting for private arrangements must deposit the required funds into the specific bank account of their chosen Hajj agency.
Eligibility and health rotocols
Registration is open to physically and mentally fit individuals aged 15 years or older. However, the ministry has specified that individuals suffering from severe failure of the heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys are ineligible.
Other exclusions include those with neurological or mental illnesses, dementia, active cancer, or infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever.
Following registration, pilgrims must undergo health screenings at government hospitals or diagnostic centres approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. They are also required to receive mandatory vaccinations and obtain a formal fitness certificate from a civil surgeon or an authorised medical professional.
