A Dhaka University (DU) student was found dead at his home in Kotchandpur of Jhenaidah on Sunday.
The deceased was Ananya Ganguly, 25, said Kotchandpur Police Station’s Inspector (investigation) Enayet Ali Khandaker.
Police rushed to the scene upon receiving information and recovered the body. It was sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, he said.
Ananya’s mother, Radha Rani Ganguly, said, “Ananya came home from Dhaka on Saturday night. After eating dinner at night, he went to his bedroom. Around 8am, I was calling him to eat the breakfast I had made.”
“Receiving no response from him, I peeked through the side window and saw Ananya hanging from a fan. Then the police were informed. The police came and recovered the body,” she said.
Inspector Enayet Ali said, “Nothing much is known about the cause of death. After the investigation, it will be possible to say the actual cause of death.”
