University of Dhaka (DU) has declared its Eid vacation beginning on Monday, with all classes, academic activities and examinations suspended until 28 March.
An emergency SMT meeting chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor Niaz Ahmed Khan made the decision on Sunday.
According to a press release issued by the university’s Public Relations Office, the meeting reviewed the Ministry of Education’s notification and a letter sent by the University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding the matter.
However, university offices will remain open as usual on 9 March. A decision on whether administrative activities and office operations will continue after that date will be announced later.
