A drone strike early Friday hit an oil refinery in Al Ahmadi operated by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, igniting fires in several processing units, according to Kuwait’s state news agency.
Initial reports indicated that multiple sections of the facility caught fire following the attack.
No casualties were reported among workers at the refinery.
Emergency response teams and firefighters were quickly deployed to the site to bring the situation under control, Al Jazeera reported.
Authorities had earlier cautioned about ongoing “hostile missile and drone attacks” targeting the country, raising concerns over regional security.
